Education: Bachelor of Science, Civil Engineering, University of Texas at Arlington, Arlington, TX; Masters, Military Operational Art and Science (Air Command Staff College) USAF Air University, Maxwell AFB, AL; USAF Civil Engineer, USAF Institute of Technology, Dayton OH.
Steve has been working in the Civil Engineering field since 1978 and a Project Manager since 1980. He has a wide variation of experience in the Private, Municipal, and Federal sectors. In the Private Sector he worked, directed, and ran several private firms in Texas. In the Municipal sector he has worked for the Cities of Grand Prairie, Weatherford, and Fort Worth. In the Federal sector Steve was a GS-15 for the Treasury Department in Fort Worth. His experience is not limited to just Engineering. Architecture, and Quality Management, but also includes Aviation and Military experience as well.
Steve is a decorated SDV with two combat deployments to Bosnia, two to Iraq, and Afghanistan. Steve served in the Air Force and Air Force Reserves and retired from there as a Lt Col after 27 years of service where he flew F-4s and F-16s for 21 years, served as an Air Liaison Officer with TACPs for 2 years, and finished the last 3 years of his career as the 10th Air Force Civil Engineer. There he managed and directed 11 Civil Engineering Squadrons and 6 RED HORSE Civil Engineering Squadrons to include facility management, building maintenance, remodels and modifications, GIS and AutoCAD management, Emergency Management, Security Forces, Fire Departments, Intel, and Weather Squadrons located at over 30 different bases. Additionally, he is a retired Flight Engineer and Commercial Pilot from American Airlines
Steve received his Civil Engineering Degree at the University of Texas at Arlington in 1983 and his Masters in Military Operational Art and Science through the USAF at Maxwell AFB in 2005. He has been trained in LEED, PMP, TQM, and is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. He has been a licensed Professional Engineer in Texas since 1989 and is also a licensed Professional Engineer in Utah. Steve is also a Certified Floodplain Manager and a member of the Texas Floodplain Management Association.
As the Vice President of Evolving Texas, Steve is focused on downloading his broad experience and expertise to our company while constantly improving our processes, procedures, engineering, and services to our clients. He is also tasked with training our staff for their roles with the latest quality management tools available to improve our efficiencies thereby eliminating wasted time and efforts while improving our firm’s effectiveness.
